Sheffield United moved into the top half of the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Bramall Lane on Monday night.
Lys Mousset scored the only goal of the game on half hour when the visitors poorly dealt with a corner, allowing the striker to tap home from close range.
Arsenal club record signing Nicolas Pepe had earlier scuffed a tap in wide from six yards. The Ivorian has still yet to settle into English football, with his sole goal being a penalty versus Aston Villa.
Pepe and co seemed intimidated by the atmosphere in Sheffield under the bright lights in the evening game as they forced Dean Henderson into just three saves during the 90 minutes and none of them too difficult.
In truth, Sheffield United were very comfortable defending for the final hour after taking the lead.
Victory moves the Blades up to ninth in the table after nine games whilst Arsenal are fifth, two points outside the Champions League places following wins for Leicester City and Chelsea over the weekend.
Unai Emery’s side have now lost four of their last seven away Premier League games.
