Sheffield United followed up their draw at Bournemouth with a 1-0 win at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon to make it four points from a possible six to start their return in the Premier League.
The Blades were always in control of the game as they nullified Wilfried Zaha’s contribution in attack for the visitors. The Ivorian was the headline maker for Crystal Palace in their 0-0 draw at home to Everton to start the season when he was only named on the substitutes bench before coming on in the second half.
Oliver Norwood ran the show in the middle of the park for Sheffield United but it was fellow central midfielder John Lundstram who scored the game’s only goal. The Englishman rebounded home from 10 yards after Luke Freeman’s effort was parried.
With four teams on zero points after two games, the Yorkshire club already have a four point lead over the relegation zone prior to hosting Leicester City next weekend.
